Dear February,

Dear February,

You’ve come through the door while I’m mid-stride.

So please don't mind the mess.

I’ve been getting organized, so I am greeting to you in the middle of deep winter decluttering; clearing out space, solidifying some systems, putting things where they truly belong.

January just passed through before you. I hope you don’t mind finishing up some of the work she started?

She left behind a lot of ideas, a lot of seeds, and I’d like to keep carrying them forward while you’re here. Perhaps we could even make some coffee, put on some music, and plant a few?

We’re still at the top of the year, just one step in now, and I’ve made a lot of exciting promises to myself while you are here.

But if I start rushing or losing my presence, please let me notice.

I want to be a good host of your days.

I plan to fill the mornings with slow coffee and steady, sweaty movement.

Our days are for deep creative windows making things we love or time on the floor, inside the imaginative worlds of the littles we love. Don't forget to just enjoy those play days by the way, we have other designated time to get things done.

I know my sleep could be better. But I also know I’ve planned some fun weekend things to do, and that feels worth keeping space and maybe even staying up late for.

Life feels shorter these days, or maybe clearer.

I noticed you brought the sun out a little bit earlier, thank you for that.

I don’t know what the future holds in a way I once thought I did, but there’s a bit of excitement in that.

Truly, anything could play out.

Could you try to pick the good stuff?

For the people I love, and for the world.

You’re a bit like a turning point for me.

Another dance around the sun for me starts on your last day here.

Ater athat, winter will start melting and then a spring season waits somewhere underneath with things I am really excited for!

…but I’m rushing myself again.

Hi February. I'm so glad you are here.

Come on in...
